The Warley Victorian Christmas Fayre was once again a great success last Saturday when crowds of visitors descended on the village school to enjoy the festive atmosphere. The kids had a great time playing splat the rat and buzzwire and getting involved in other activities, whilst the adults spent their brass on crafts made by the Warley Circle, home made cakes and a fantastic tombola. Father Christmas was there in his grotto and also led revellers to the village centre at 4pm for the traditional switch on of the Christmas Lights by the Mayor of Calderdale and her consort. This was followed by carol singing led by the choir from St John’s church who were dressed to the nines in Dickensian attire.
Thanks go to everyone who organised the event, those who made crafts and cakes or donated prizes and of course to everyone who showed up to kick Christmas off in fine style!
