Rushbearing comes to Warley

The Sowerby Bridge Rushbearing Festival is just a week away and as usual the Rushbearing Cart begins its journey at Warley St John’s at around 10.45am on Saturday 6th September preceded by a short service at the church (10.15). Refreshments available from 10am.

Arriving in the village centre at 11.00, there will be all the usual activities as the parade makes its first stop outside the Maypole for Morris Dancing and the Traditional Mummers play.  The Maypole will of course be open early and the Community Association will have its usual stall selling pasties and cakes.  Also available for sale will be Warley history books and DVDs and of course the fantastic 2015 Warley Calendar – a bargain Christmas gift for only £5!

Dont miss it!
